Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to know the difference between Owens Corning and Rockwool on day one. You don’t need to have ever crawled into an attic. What you need is the willingness to learn a trade that pays well, shows up on time, and treats people fairly. We’ve spent 25 years figuring out how to run an insulation business the right way, and we’d rather teach you what we know than watch you make the same mistakes we made in 2000. Our training exists for one reason: to get you earning with confidence as fast as possible.
Initial Training
Your first weeks with Walt’s Insulation are structured, hands-on, and built around the same systems we use every day. We start with the fundamentals of the trade: how different insulation types perform, when to recommend blown-in fiberglass versus spray foam, and how to assess an attic without missing the air leaks that cost homeowners hundreds each summer. You’ll learn to install products from Owens Corning, Johns Manville, Knauf, Rockwool, CertainTeed, Icynene, Demilec, and GreenFiber correctly, and just as importantly, when each one makes sense for a specific house. From there we move to the business side: our quoting process, scheduling software, phone systems, and the customer follow-up that keeps referrals coming. Hiring is taught as a skill, not left to chance. You’ll learn what we look for in background-checked, uniformed technicians and how to build a crew that shows up on time. By the end of initial training, you’ll have installed real insulation in real homes, run a mock estimate from first call to paid invoice, and sat through marketing sessions on local lead generation. You won’t know everything. You’ll know enough to start, and you’ll know exactly who to call when a question comes up.
Launch Support
Opening the doors is a team effort. We don’t hand you a manual and wish you luck. Before your first job, we help you set up your local marketing presence: Google Business Profile, local service pages, and an online presence that matches the Walt’s Insulation name and the Done Right Promise. We walk you through how to generate leads in your first 90 days and how to answer the phone when they come. Then we co-pilot your first jobs. We’ll review your quotes before they go out, help you price attic insulation and crawl space encapsulation correctly for your market, and debrief after the installs. The goal is simple: by job five or six, you’re running the show with us on standby instead of in the room. Every franchisee starts with a published address and license number, which means local customers know exactly who they’re hiring. That trust starts at launch, and we teach you how to protect it.
Ongoing Support
- Field coaching and ride-alongs: Periodic on-site visits from our senior team to help you refine installs, train new hires, and troubleshoot the odd attic you’ll inevitably run into.
- Marketing and lead engine support: Ongoing direction on local SEO, direct mail, and referral systems so your phone keeps ringing without you becoming a full-time marketer.
- Vendor relationships and pricing: Access to our established accounts with Owens Corning, Johns Manville, Knauf, Rockwool, CertainTeed, Icynene, Demilec, and GreenFiber, plus guidance on material pricing for your region.
- Technology and software updates: Our scheduling, quoting, and customer management tools evolve over time. You get every update, plus training on how to use it without disrupting your week.
- National brand campaigns: The Walt’s Insulation name and Done Right Promise build recognition that benefits every franchisee. We run awareness efforts, and you reap the local trust.
- Ongoing business coaching: Regular check-ins on your P&L, hiring, and customer satisfaction. If something’s off, we catch it early and help you fix it.
